TM1 API - How does it work?

In order to create beautiful alternative visualizations based on TM1 data, we have to go far beyond available interfaces TM1 provides (web, Excel, even Cognos reports). 

However, by developing fast and easy TM1 API we are able to build bridges to front-end web interface where frameworks such as jQuery and Räphael can be exploited to form visualizations we desire.

Custom TM1 API has to be bi-directional:

DATA-OUT (from TM1 to browser) is used to populate and visualize information. 

DATA-IN (from browser to TM1) is used to trigger actions, send parameters and store collected data.
